You actually make it seem so easy along with your presentation however I find this matter to be actually one thing that I feel I'd by no means understand. It kind of feels too complicated and extremely large for me. I am looking ahead for your next put up, I'll try to get the hang of it!

Love your site; however, your reference to Christian Science in the interview wasn't entirely accurate. The title of the book that the founder (Mary Baker Eddy) wrote is Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Written in the mid to late 1800's, it was provided partially as a metaphysical interpretation of (i.e, a key to) the King James Version of the Bible. Most of the current New Thought organizations (Science of Mind, Unity, Agape, etc.) can be traced back to the more progressive theology (at the time) that Mrs. Eddy brought forward. She was careful to try to distinguish her ideas from Eastern philosophy, but there are a lot of similarities. The Church Headquarters and most (but not all) church members would be quick to disagree as there is the tendency to proclaim loudly that it is “Christian,” as if that matters for some odd reason. Nevertheless, there are points that a practicing Buddhist and a practicing Christian Scientist would happily agree on.

Great job Whalen with an informative and entertaining interview. I studied with Reggie Ray in 2001 to become a meditation instructor, and i will always be grateful for his guidance. Since then, I've lost touch with him, not because he's teaching a different type of meditation from Trungpa Rinpoche, but because i'm less interested in the path of personal happiness and solitary retreat he talks about. Given our world today, i've found myself more drawn to the engaged, social justice and environmental work the Sakyong's talking about in the Shambhala Buddhist community.
