Video of the week: Summer Rayne Oakes.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve featured ecofashion model and environmental activist Summer Rayne Oakes as video of the week. But it’s hard to keep up with her—in the last year she’s graced the pages of Vanity Fair, GQ, Allure and Treehugger (and soon, we hope, the cover of ele) and has landed a show on Discovery’s new Planet Green network. Summer Rayne has put herself out there and worked hard, nonstop, to be an eco-ambassador—and she’s made headway, achieving name recognition, media presence and street cred—and she’s still only 23. This video, via Mac laptop and our Dharma Brat Brooklyn buddy Catherine Fordham, is an opportunity to learn about Summer Rayne’s rise to eco-fame in her own words—how she made the journey from Cornell biology student to serving as an international spokesperson for catwalking the eco talk.
