Mindful Parenting: Disposable Baby Diapers vs. Cloth Diapers.

Until the 1970s, everyone, everywhere used and reused cloth diapers. They’re still available through diaper services. “Reusable or disposable?” is probably the most important health/environment decision parents can make.

Your average baby uses 5,000 diapers. Each year, the equivalent weight of 1,000,000 Indian elephants are tossed. Smushed in landfills, mercury and dioxins (chlorine) leak into our water supply—accumulating in animals and humans and upping child asthma and cancer rates.

Still wedded to the convenience of one-time-use diapers>? Get these hypo-allergenic, dermatologist tested, latex- and TBT-free dioxin-free diapers. The next seven generations of babies will say, “ugga bugga.”
