The automakers at Nissan say they’ve come up with a new “Eco-pedal” that will push back on a driver’s foot if the driver accelerates too quickly and compromises fuel economy, combined with a real-time fuel consumption device, it’s expected to improve fuel economy by 5-10 percent. A good step (pun intended), but why not just build electric cars and/or diesels (that can be switched to biodiesel, of course)?
