Having just returned from India myself, I can attest to the fact that, cultural differences aside, the plight of dogs there is positively heartbreaking, as well as a serious public health issue. Today, in the first phase of the events planned for World's Rabies Day, Arvind set up an rabies awareness program at a school in Dharamsala. Flyers were distribute containing the information on what to do if you are bitten by a dog. Also, a local doctor, Dr. Kishtwaria spoke to the school and providing very useful information school children and the local community. Tomorrow will be the mass vaccination where you collar donations will be put to use. Also, those who have donated money, much of it has been sent to provide the rabies vaccines.
