The polar bear is going to go extinct within our lifetime.

Okay, it’s not news exactly—after all, the polar bear has become the symbol of our ecosystem, imperiled by global warming—but with the Arctic now passable for the first time in modern history, the below footage of a polar bear and her baby brings home the symbolism and grounds it in reality.
