Polyvore. Digital collage. The trap.

Via on Nov 20, 2008

I have been known to indulge in a little collage. In 2000, I discovered Adobe Photoshop the original tool for digital collage.  Oh! the wonders I discovered with Photoshop.  I could easily get off track as there are a lot more distractions on a computer screen, so many options… If I wanted to be distracted and had plenty of time on my hands to make digital collages then I would be sure to head to Polyvore.

It is a free, easy-to-use web-based application for mixing and matching images from anywhere on the web.  Most people collage but some people even make Renoir style paintings with just abstractions of color and shadows.  The community boasts 440,000 registered users, 65 million monthly page views and almost 4 million products! I began to make a set and then instantly realized the trap that I was about to enter, decided to blog it and moved on to take a few photos of some of my faves.

So thanks Polyvorians, “you so stylee”…
