Ani DiFranco: on Motherhood (with elephant journal friend, Sarah Kraft of Mindful Mama magazine)

Via on Dec 24, 2008

I first fell in love with Ani when I was living in Boston, and got to go see her with a high school friend at Wellesley. I musta been the only boy, or one of say 15, in a crowd of hundreds in the old New Englandy theater…and Ani was simultaneously magnetizing and terrifying (at least for the men in the audience). An independent, fierce, vulnerable artist, I haven’t followed her much over the last 10 years…and now suddenly I find she’s a momma!

A friend and fellow “mindful entrepreneur” here in Boulder, Sarah Kraft, recently launched her new magazine with an interview of Ani. For those fans who’ve too-rarely listened to Ani speak, and not merely rock, the following might represent a wonderful resource—esp for new mommas. For me, I don’t get most of it…I’m not a parent, yet, and thinking about parenthood and babies is…scary.

And another interview:

And here’s some poetry and talk about her view of modern feminism:
