DVD Review: Yoga Journal’s Yoga For Well-being with Jason Crandell

This video contains three short vinyasas designed to help you sleep, give you greater energy, and help clear your mind as well as an interview with instructor Jason Crandell.  The video states that it is for beginning and intermediate students, though if someone is an absolute beginner, then it would benefit them to watch the video all the way through once since there really isn’t a lot of guidance or instruction around the poses given during the sequences.  The vinyasas themselves aren’t overly stressful, but do help with their intended purposes.  Crandell’s screen presence makes him warm and “approachable,” a definite plus in any yoga video presentation.  The vinyasas themselves are just the right mix of challenge and ease, with guidance for those less flexible and suggestions for those who are trying to raise the stakes for themselves.  These videos are a good way to squeeze in a quick workout into a busy day, no matter when you do them.  Available from YogaJournal.com. (Tell ’em you saw it on Elephant Journal!)
