The most energy efficiant dryer you can use is available for free it is called air and sun! You can use it year round with a simple little thing called a portable clothes line drying rack. It is inexpensive and very versital. It even dries those hand washable, delicates and dry clean only clothes that you are hand washing anyways. So it is great that companies are finally thinking about being green. Just don't forget that if we try we can find ways that are better ways...

lol...all these "green" appliances are so confusing to me. i feel like it's a case of the "emperors clothes" - if you are so obsessed with being "green" - wash your clothes by hand, with organic soap if you so choose. consumption does not equal "green"...does it? who cares if it uses less electricity? you're still using a machine (energy + resources to produce, energy + resources to operate, landfill space to dispose of afterward...etc.) to do something for you that you are perfectly capable of doing manually!

we live in such a paradoxical world. ;P

Tom! I do agree, simpler is better. BUT we are a new world and we can't always go back. Way is giving all the options he can and that's so important. Have you read CRADLE TO CRADLE? If not yet, read it!!! :)))

Personally, I agree Tom--at my home, I dry all my clothes by hand. I did say in the post that it's still not nearly as 'green' or energy-neutral as good old-fashioned washing lines, which are free, are easier on clothes, and leave clothes smelling fresh and lovely.

That said, most of this nation is using on-eco-responsible dryers...so if they make the above switch, would be an improvement.
