Product Review: Intentional Chocolates… the PERFECT gift for Valentine’s Day

According to their product info and website, these chocolates aren’t just tasty, they are exceptionally good for you, providing you with the benefits of decreased stress, increased energy, less fatigue, greater calmness, enhanced focus, and improved general well being, and they have the science to prove it.  In 2007, Intentional Chocolate engaged in a study with the HESA Institute to study the effects of their chocolate on people that consumed it for a week, with their results published in a peer reviewed journal.  Unfortunately, it was a rather small study and to my knowledge hasn’t yet been repeated, so the scientific validity of the study could be doubted.  (Sign me up for further studies!)  What makes Intentional Chocolate so special is that while the chocolate is being made, Buddhist monks bless the chocolate with prayers and intentions of health and well being for whoever eats it.  While it may sound a little far-fetched, remember that humans have been offering grace or prayers of some sort with their meals for millennia; Intentional Chocolate proceeds from that premise.  I’m a naturally upbeat person, so I can’t completely vouch for its effects beyond what I normally get when I eat good chocolate, and regardless of anything else, this is great chocolate.  I tried the dark chocolate pistoles, which are 68% cocoa mass, and my only complaint is that I’ve run out.  The pistoles are rich and melt smoothly without any sort of bitter after taste.  While I can’t say for certain that the positive effects from eating the chocolate, I wouldn’t easily dismiss it, either.  All I can say for sure is that Intentional Chocolate is some of the best chocolate I’ve ever had, and if it benefits the one you love, it’s the perfect gift to show someone how special they are to you.  In addition, 50% of the net profits from the sale of Intentional Chocolate is donated to nonprofits that benefit humankind.  Available from their website, and worth every cent.
