He's calm assertive—totally different. He doesn't employ force, though he uses touch, just as momma dogs do. And it works. He's actually very, very gentle, part of what inspires and trains me as an owner to be more calm and firm without giving way to anger or helplessness. Still, thanks for your perspective! He teaches dogs 'what not to do' using force, and often intimidation. Using reward based training to teach a dog 'what to do' is more fun, humane, and clear to the dog. You can use reward based training with all behaviors, including and especially aggression. Negative reinforcement doesn't work in the long term. When you see a cop, you slow down (neg reinforcer). Once you drive by, you speed up. It's a temporary fix to a larger issue. The same goes for dogs. Once Cesar leaves- I guarantee that Dalmation was in the road.
