Vote No on the war supplemental bill, Congressman Polis!
Congress will vote on the 2009 Defense Supplemental Appropriations Bill today. Rep. Jared Polis voted no last time it came up for a vote last month saying, “At its heart, this bill is about increasing and prolonging US military involvement in Afghanistan, which I do not support.”
Democratic leadership is urging anti-war democrats to vote yes for the bill, as they make a second attempt to push it through. Tell Congressman Polis to stay true to his strong anti-war stance he took during the 2008 Election. The Defense Supplemental bill extends our stay in Afghanistan and Iraq. Our taxpayer dollars should instead be invested in finding a responsible exit strategy from these wars.
Call Congressman Polis’ office now and urge him to vote no on the 2009 Defense Supplemental Appropriations Bill at 202.225.2161—they’re voting today!
