Great article. I am a big fan of fully sustained living. I am starting to realize less is more. I have eliminated clutter and no longer need my storage space. Eco-friendly living is definitely here to stay. I even took drastic measures and traded in my Range Rover for a Prius.

Its funny to see all these "small" homes on LOTS of land. Kind of hypocritical.

"Home ought to be our clearinghouse, the place from which we go forth lessoned and disciplined, and ready for life." ~Kathleen Norris

I sincerely hope the small living movement catches on and builds momentum. The incredible waste of space evident in many suburbs embodies the detrimental concept of acquisition and ownership over collective caretaking. We apply the "use only what you need" mantra to water, but land/earth/space is even more finite. As evidenced here in Boulder, the communal living movement is working towards this end, furthering the benefits with additions like community gardens and mandatory water reuse. If we can start by applying the principles of conservation and sustainability at home, imagine what we can do outside of it!
