Educate! Climb for Uganda

Support our good friends over at Educate! in the First Annual Climb for Uganda in beautiful Boulder, Colorado to celebrate and help their cause that drives social, political, and economic change in Africa and empowers Uganda’s youth.

WHAT: Educate!, a Uganda and Boulder-based organization, holds the First Annual Climb for Uganda to raise money for education programs in Africa. The money raised from the climb will go directly to empower Educate!’s 415 students in Uganda to transform their communities.

WHO: Educate! friends in Boulder will hike up Green Mountain (4 miles round-trip) while Educate! students will hike up a mountain in Kampala, Uganda – uniting forces for the same cause; empowering Uganda’s youth to transform their communities by addressing poverty, disease, and environmental degradation.

WHERE:  Green Mountain, a four-mile hike

WHEN: Sunday, September 13, at 9 a.m.

Educate! Mission: To educate and empower the next generation of socially responsible leaders in Africa. For more information, check out Educate! and the First Annual Climb for Uganda.

Educate! empowers students across Uganda to drive the social, political and economic development of their communities. We teach a two-year curriculum on how to lead social change, provide long term mentoring, and create a life-long, national network that equips students with the skills and confidence necessary to transform their communities. Educate! students create locally-grown, market based initiatives that solve the challenges of poverty, disease, and environmental degradation.

Today, Educate! is empowering 415 young leaders at 24 high schools across Uganda. A recent winner of the Echoing Green fellowship recognizing the highest potential startup social change ventures worldwide, Educate! was also recognized by Entrepreneur magazine as one of 100 Brilliant Companies in 2009 and by DoSomething as an organization started by one of America’s top five change-makers under 25.
