When it comes to local food, Whole Foods has an interesting definition that would seem to be at odds with that of your local farmers’ market.
Considering that Americans’ average meal has traveled 1500 miles to get to our plate, and that means we eat more processed food and that the transport causes a great deal of pollution, and climate change, eating “local” at Whole Foods would be a huge improvement.
