DIY Crafts Project of the Week: Button headbands.

I’m always looking for something hip and new that I can create or transform. It seems that now, more than ever before, DIY (Do-It-Yourself) arts and crafts are at the top of the “hip” list. Maybe it’s due to the economic situation and the inability to buy $30+ accessories at say Urban Outfitters or maybe it’s the desire for the unique one-of-a-kind look. Either way, I’m happy the era of DIY is here. And lucky for you, this little design tip I picked up with a little help from etsy, can be created by anyone.  All you need is some old buttons (and I know you have a drawer full of extra buttons off of clothes), an elastic headband, some felt or thick-ish material, a little creativity and, voilá, button headband!

I’ve inspired all the lovely ladies at Boulder’s locally owned boutique, Common Era, to make these wonderfully fun and funky button headbands, so if your crafts time is limited, they are available for purchase there.
