right on, Mr Courtney! you nailed exactly how I have been feleing. While not "making light" of people's economic woes, the silver lining on this economic cloud is actually very exciting and uplifting for me... that we can all pull back from our consum(ptive) lifestyles and truly start to nurture ourselves and others. Thank you so much. I will share this article with many, and actually think I might include a copy of it with my Christmas letters! bravo!

Thank you ~ I love this article and will pass it on in hopes that others will let thier spirit absorb what it offers.
When we clear the material things from our lives, we are open to what life has to offer.

This is exactly how I felt for years!. I wouldn't say I'm glad that this has happened, but I do feel good when I see people doing things that America hasn't done in awhile. It seems like this time has come around when the majority of people were overfed, when new technology distracted us from human interaction, and where material objects interfered with the love for others.

Very, very good post!

Hey brother!!

I have felt these feelings for sometime about our current economic situation in this country....which also was the contagion for the rest of this global meltdown. Let's face it.....this crisis was the spawn of greed and overconsumption anyway. I do hope more people in these turbulent times can begin to realize.....they will not achieve complete happiness by acquisition of wealth....but by their relationships and their faith. When we serve and reach out to others......doesn't it feel ultimately better.....than that latest, tricked out IPhone and your new customized Hummer? BTW.....I am a capitalist!! Haha.

Best Regards,
