I like the blog! Superb material, and excellent grammar. I am getting sick and tired with reading weblogs as well as web-sites that seem like they are published by 3rd graders. Have you got a Twitter? My own is actually @dmastylo, we should follow each other! :)

I know a lot of people in the Boulder community have been lured by the Siren song of quick and easy wealth through real estate. I know a lot of people are stuck in their burdensome mortgages because at this point values just don't seem to want to go up much more, and they may have bought more than they can afford here.

However, I fail to understand why perpetuate this flawed scheme at this point, especially in the Elephant.

Is the tax credit really good for the economy, or is it just "extend and pretend"?

http://www.prospect.org/csnc/blogs/beat_the_press...

Also, where did this start? Bush's ownership society?
http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/mortgages/200409...
Perhaps! How did our left leaning community come to embrace real estate as "the path" and now "own" this issue so passionately?

It's time to give up real estate as anything but a place to live for people who can afford the luxury of having a huge chunk of money tied up in an illiquid asset.
