“Make Love, not Porn.” [Explicit]

TED: Hardcore Pornography becomes Sex Education for an entire Generation. [Explicit]

Brilliant TED Talk: “hardcore pornography has defacto become sex education for an entire generation.”

What children see on the internet at younger and younger ages is funded, directed, created and targeted by men. With schools and institutions (teen abstinence, anyone?) and parents declining to get involved in birds and bees, we can’t let porn become the adjudicator of what’s acceptable (like xxxxxing on a young woman’s face).

At TED2009, audience member Cindy Gallop gave a 4-minute presentation that became one of the event’s most talked about. Speaking from her personal experience, she argued that hardcore pornography had distorted the way a generation of young men think about sex. She talked about how she was fighting back with the launch of a website — http://makelovenotporn.com — to correct the myths being propagated.
