I'm a long-time yin yoga teacher (and will be introducing it to the Arusha, Tanzania yoga community in February -- can't wait!) and have written extensively about it on my blog, if you're interested.....

Thank you for this, Nancy! I've been struggling to find a yoga groove in my new home in Minnesota (after moving from Florida in November), and yin yoga seems to be what's working best for me now. My problem with yin yoga is that I never feel like I'm doing "enough." This blog, and the fact that we're experiencing real winter now, gives me permission to relax and restore during this dormant time of the year. Great blog!

The yin yoga class I taught as part of the Free Yoga Sampler class was one of the groups favourites. Everyone was amazed at the depth of the stretches. Moving slowly and recognizing the need to take care of self are vital to good health. There are also some wonderfully effective Svaroopa Yoga exercises you can use during your yin practice. Enjoy.
