Lovely. I've been exploring the weaving of the psychological/physical (especially the heart) in my own writing and this feels like affirmation. Thank you.

This is very nice. Sometimes, the simple things are more perfect compared to a very complicated thing. It really like the melting heart.

Donna, As always you inspire me with your writing and the connections you make. In regards to the heart healing restorative poses, I love your description, "allowing the body to open and the heart to mend with gentle intention."

This was beautiful - the transition from the physical realization of the heart to the mind+body - working together to bring it forward. I love how you take the aspect of the hears as 4 chambers (and how you perceived/experienced that) and then into how through our yoga practice of asanas we open our heart - which (amazingly! and wonderfully) really opens our true heart. Really, such great writing. :)

Love the poem, Bob - honoured that my article would inspire you. And thank you for your kind words. The interconnections are within and around us and as we learn more about the physical, spiritual, emotional & mental aspects of ourselves, life gains greater meaning.

Hi, Donna.

I love the way you blend and weave the poses with the physical and the psychological. Of course Yoga is practiced by many to good effect as a pure exercise/stretching routine. But those who choose to go beyond this often do so because they read some sensitive awareness-expanding article just like the one you wrote here, or they have a class in which the teacher does something similar.

I am one of those people, starting Yoga purely for tennis training, starting with a teacher like you who in the middle of the poses would talk kind of like you do above, without overdoing the spiritual aspects. We were in a tennis club, after all. One thing leads to another and eventually I end up at the other extreme, practicing primarily Yoga philosophy, although I still do asana everyday.

I also love this particular blog because when I want to reconnect with the infinite wonder of the universe and the fact that I'm an integral part of that infinite wonder, I often just relax and think about the infinite wonder of my heart and the way it pumps the nourishment from my breath throughout our wondrous bodies. How can anyone have a dualistic body vs. spirit attitude toward life when they have this awesome unfathomableness right under their nose every moment of their life?

(I think I just inadvertently wrote a new poem. Thanks for the inspiration.)
