So you want to follow your own breath? Great. I've always been told "it's your dance," so let it be that.

Looks like we're both operating simultaneously in the Yoga world and the music world:

http://MySpace.com/PadreeHijo

I can't figure out if I'm a flamenco guitarist who writes about Yoga or a Yoga writer who plays flamenco guitar. But no matter, really!

Great blog, Yesica.

Even though your blogs are often long, I always read through them slowly, sometimes more than once, because I know my time will be richly rewarded.

The only thing I'll add, as I always do when the Yoga Sutra is mentioned, is that, in my opinion, it is quite incomplete without the other two of the "big three" ancient Yoga texts--the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. The Yoga Sutra deserves to be in this exalted company, but the Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita go into depth about vital things the Yoga Sutra only hints at, if that. I believe this is probably because Patanjali assumed knowledge of these things, and are what he meant when he talked about "self-study". The three together are an absolute marvel.

I like the spectrum of Yoga you portray. But don't forget about the extreme other end of the spectrum, based entirely on a modern interpretation of the "big three" texts--Ratra (Radical Traditional) Yoga:

"First it was Yobo, Now Their is Ratra
http://bit.ly/3JZeWY

But Ratra, like the Yoga of the Upanishads, is universalist. So we embrace all forms of Yoga, with the possible exception of the teacher in you hilarious opening story above!

Thanks again for another great article.
