As told to Janette Rizk:
… well, you’re supposed to think that this just happened one afternoon in Santa Monica around the corner from our little yoga studio, Yogis Anonymous. At least for a minute. Then you’re supposed to go get on your yoga mat! The truth is that we (my wife and partner Ally Hamilton, I, and all of our teachers) think life is too short for boring ad copy… “come to our fabulous yoga studio blah blah blah”…forget it, man. Instead we shoot fun little videos and hope to get a chuckle out of whoever pays attention.
But the larger truth, if you ask me, is that yoga can happen anywhere. And it should happen everywhere… all the time! Whether you’re on the mat at our yoga studio, on the phone at the office, on a shopping spree, or on the fence about that relationship you’re in. So it’s kinda cool to grab people’s attention for a few minutes to remind them to breathe. Just breathe into it. In the most peculiar of places. And it’s also cool because it ties into the new website we’ll be launching soon, one that helps bring people together from all around the world, wherever you are, to synchronize your breath, your intentions, and your practice with this thing that you’re taking part in just by reading this: our web-enabled global yoga kula! It’s the oldest thing in the world and the newest thing in the world, too! Ommmmmm….
ps. That’s our son Dylan in the video rocking the sun salutes, btw. There’s my proud papa moment
