I’m a Mac…and I’ve got a Dirty Secret.

The Deadliest War since WWII is taking place right now in the Congo. Five million people have died and hundreds of thousands of women and girls have been raped.

I first heard about this via some article in the Times, just a week or so ago. I first learned something about this thanks to my Dharma brother, Nathaniel Janowitz’ great article just last week.

And now, with thanks for the heads up on the above video to Nyima Wimberly, here’s a vid. that help makes this complicated, troubling subject immediately accessible.

What can we do? Send a clear message to electronics manufacturers: “If you take conflict out of your cell phone, I will buy it.” Sign the pledge. ~ ed.

Hello, I’m a Mac, and I’m helping fuel the war in the Congo — the deadliest war in the world. So are PCs, cell phones, digital cameras and other electronics. That’s what Apple’s famous ads don’t tell you. So actor/activist Brooke Smith and cinematographer Steven Lubensky teamed up with actors Joshua Malina and John Lehr to create a version that sets the record straight.
