Review: Lucy Activewear Organic Cotton Yoga Outfit.

The (Almost) Perfect Yoga Outfit.

Coming from a background in sports, I favor fit and functionality rather than clothes that can highlight my yoga butt. Luckily, Lucy’s got it all. The Cotton Karma Racerback top and matching Organic Hatha pants fit me perfectly. And they still fit me perfectly after a few washes. This is thanks to the blend of organic cotton and spandex—89% organic cotton + 11% Lycra. Beneficial for my (beginner’s) yoga practice, the stretch in the fabric is flexible yet tight enough so my yoga instructor can see what kind of wacky position my body is in and fix me. The Lucy outfit is stylee, a slightly sexy heart-shaped top with a comfortable racerback and pants adorned with a light blue waistband, even giving me that oh so desired yoga rump. Thank god.

The only bad things about the outfit are: made in Peru (which means not fair labor, not made in USA—meaning the items take a lot of energy (shipping) to end up in my closet), not all organic (however the little bit of spandex makes them great for exercise of all types), and fairly expensive (which definitely speaks to the quality of the garments).

The Cotton Karma Racerback top:

Fab look and fit, with support and (just) enough coverage for poses like downward dog. Made of 88% organic cotton + 11% lycra (and a mysterious 1% of something, it doesn’t say).

With a heart-shaped, ruched neckline and a longer length, the Karma Racerback is uber-flattering. Features a coolmax-lined mesh shelf bra with removable lucy cupcakes, offering a moderate level of support; but the best part? It’s made of soft, lightweight, eco-friendly cotton.

The Organic Hatha pants:

Light weight yet durable. Organic Cotton (89% organic cotton, 11% Lycra). Flattering Silhouettes. Fashion waistband. And, the pants have a great seams. A coolmax gusset and anti-chafe flat-locked seams for, you know, down there, so there isn’t an annoying cluster of fabric and seamage right in the middle—allowing you to focus on your sitting poses rather than your discomfort.

Lucy gets two thumbs up for functionality with fashion.

  1. It looks like the top gives enough support even though it's relatively low cut depending on body type. It could also just be yoga streetware really. The back is very cute!

Thanks for the thoughtful comment. I agree with your concern about the top. I have little to no bust so it is not much of a problem for me, but the fit—with the heart-shaped ruched neckline—might be a little too sexy for some. It's definitely a fashion piece, but has great fit and comfort. The top also has a built-in bra so there is the necessary support for certain downward poses!
