Free Food for Thought (You Won’t Want to Miss).

If there is one thing that unites us, it is the fact that we all eat.

It doesn’t matter what side of the aisle that you are on or where you sit on that socioeconomic ladder. You eat.

And if you ever consume a non-organic beer, glass of wine or food, you’re part of an ongoing trial here in the United States because there are additives that have been allowed into the American food supply that aren’t allowed in the food supplies in other developed countries. And that can be downright disturbing, shocking and sometimes outrageously offensive.

If you want to learn about why this has happened, how money has influenced not only policy but also research, and what you can do to protect your loved ones and yourself from additives like artificial growth hormones, insecticides, synthetic colors and antibiotics that are now found in the American food supply, I encourage you to join us at The Dairy Center on Wednesday, November 3rd at 7pm.

We all eat. But if you don’t have an appetite for additives, then please join us on November 3rd, for healthy dose of the truth and some delicious organic goodies that will be shared by some of our favorite local food companies like Ice Box Bakery, Rudi’s Bakery, Third Street Chai, The Gluten Free Bistro, 34 Degrees, Earth Balance and others.

The event is sponsored by Earth Balance and described in the following way:

Robyn O’Brien — mother, former food-industry analyst and author of The Unhealthy Truth — will give a presentation at the Dairy Center for the Arts on Nov. 3 about our food system, our children’s exposure to additives not found in kids’ foods in other countries, and what that is doing to the health of our families.

O’Brien is the founder of the AllergyKids Foundation, an organization designed to address the role that additives in the American food supply are having on the health of the 1 in 3 American children with autism, allergies, ADHD and asthma.

She has been called “food’s Erin Brockovich” by The New York Times, and in her first book, The Unhealthy Truth, she sheds light on the food industry and the impact that new ingredients and additives now found in everyday foods are having on the health of our families. The Dairy Center is located at 2590 Walnut St. in Boulder.
