A friend told me I was being Zen-like and irritating when, just after yoga class, I seemed unable to form a solid opinion about where we should go for beer…preferring simply to flow along with others’ plans like a babbling brook…or something…
I can appreciate that…and so offer the following haiku in small tribute to the long-suffering multitudes who tirelessly put up with pretentious yogis, hippie Buddhists, and other annoyingly cosmic and mellow types:
Meditating, I
become a pain in the ass
to most of my friends
(…though suspecting doing so could make me even more Zen-like and irritating…there’s gotta be a koan in there somewhere…)
