Chandrika, where have you been all my life?

Taking a shower just got better. How, you ask? Its name is Chandrika and it comes all the way from India.

A little over two years ago I was given the great fortune of being gifted with a two inch by three inch bar of soap. The generous giver, a trusted friend and connoisseur of Ayurvedics, encouraged me to use the soap the next time I showered.

So for an entire day the little bar of soap took homage on my bathroom sink. Even in its cardboard encasing it intoxicated and tantalized me and the entire room with its fragrant herbal essences.

The next morning, with much anticipation, I opened the little box to find a bar of soap wrapped in clear cellophane and then wrapped again with a folded leaflet printed on both sides with the soap’s ingredients.

The leaflet informed me that it was a hand-made vegetable oil soap not tested on any of our animal friends and contains none of their fat or by products. Prepared from Ayurvedic herbal extracts and blended with Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, and Patchouli Oil, this little bar of dark green goodness lathered like no soap I have ever used before.

Aside from the mileage it took for this little bar to reach me and perhaps its cellophane wrapping, it is indeed one of the best soaps I have ever used. I love its ingredients, scent and the way my skin feels after using it.
