Sadie Nardini’s new DVDs: Giveaway.

Being able to practice to a DVD at home can be a real gift to the yogi who cannot make it to a regular class.  So it’s not surprising that one of the most common questions I get as a yoga teacher is “what DVDs do you recommend for a home practice?”  I tend to give a standard answer that involves something like, try some of the offerings available first via a rental service like Netflix or the library to see what works for you before investing in one.  I often find DVDs distracting and will end up sitting back and watching the video to see what the instructor is doing.  They become a “watch what I do not do what I do” experience for me.

An exception to this experience is watching the DVDs of Sadie Nardini.  A caveat of course is that she is one of my main teachers so I am partial to her method of teaching.  Sadie’s DVDs are very easy to follow and I find that I can get out of my head and back into my body.  So I was thrilled when she told me that her two latest DVDs were released last month on Amazon.

These two new DVDs offer a combination of either longer or shorter practices with lots of focus on core work and alignment.  Sadie demonstrates and leads the practice from atop a beautiful mesa in Sedona, AZ surrounded by red rock that nearly matches her fiery red hair.  Viewers will find a great blend of her funkiness (Charlie’s Angel Mudra) and her strong basis in anatomy (“lift that golden egg, the pelvic diaphragm”).  Her language is clear and links breath and movement while at the same time offering both a vigorous and/or modified practice.    There is something for everyone is this set of videos.
