Let’s ask the mothers: Disgusting or groundbreaking?
I would imbed this video here for you, but it was taken down off of YouTube for breaking YouTube’s policy’s against “shocking and disgusting content,” and the website it is currently hosted on is in Russian. Doesn’t matter, you don’t need to know Russian to be shocked and/or horrified by the “lariat-like” twirling of what looks like a very, very young baby at a Baby Yoga retreat in Egypt.
“Did they notice that the babies aren’t crying–they’re even laughing,” the women in the video, Lena Fokina, responded in an interview, “and that this system has been used for over thirty years in Russia and the children are all alive and healthy?”
It’s true, the baby just looks befuddled, and it looks like she’s gently doing the twirling, flipping, bouncing, and twisting, if such a thing is possible.
There is much more to the interview than what is found here and on BoingBoing, but BoingBoing being as popular as it is, it looks like the site with the interview – Dadwagon – had its servers crashed by the influx of curious visitors is back up! Check it out.
What do you think of this, yoga mothers?
