Jennifer Aniston Gives Oprah the Gift of Yoga.

Via on Feb 3, 2011

On today’s Oprah Show, Jennifer Aniston was Oprah’s guest.  To help Oprah celebrate her upcoming birthday, Jen came bearing a gift.  What gift did she give the woman who has everything?  You guessed it! A yoga mat.  Check it out:

As you can see, this wasn’t just any yoga mat.  This yoga mat was created by yogamatic and was personalized to feature Oprah’s five dogs.  Let’s hear a big Oprah cheer for yogaaaaaaaaa!!!!

About Birdie Greenberg

Birdie Greenberg has been a struggling yogi since the summer of 2004, when she was stressing herself out studying to pass the bar exam. In an effort to chill her out, her mom dragged her flapping and squawking into her first yoga class. She never looked back. Four years later, she became a Registered Yoga Teacher with Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago. Birdie lives and works in Los Angeles, California. And when she's not yogaing or blogging, you'll probably find her hiking in the mountains with her handsome husband and her two beloved furballs. You can read more about her personal yoga journey at her blog, Yogi, interrupted.

  3. Hi, Birdie. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on what's going on out there in yoga popular culture.

I personally enjoy hearing about all the places yoga is showing up in our world, and I know our readers do, too.

Very entertaining. More please! (as Oliver would say).

      Hi Ang!
No she is not adopting. She told Oprah and Ellen that she wasn't…lol…looks like it's the big question for her lately. She does have two cute puppies though :).

    Hi Birdie!
Loved it! I watched passionately as Jennifer Aniston is one of my favorite people in the world, and I loved the gift. The idea probably came from her amazing yoga teacher Mandy Ingber (www.mandyingber.com). She works with yogamatic when she does her workshops for vision boards and encourages people to get their vision board printed on their mat so that they practice on it and see it everyday. I will be getting mine printed soon :).

Well, what else Oprah would need? She almost have everything she can ask for, and that gift is really wonderful. The thought is really priceless.

Btw, I want to share a page I recently found, Yoga Poses while on Office

to quote Philip Goldberg and elephant journal-''''If we fail to do that we will have trivialized something profound,
rendered shallow something deep and corrupted something precious and
sacred.''—and some how i am filled with dread when such total pop icons as oprah and jen embrace something :(
i wish them well but …oh my :\

In any case, I respectfully disagree with this interpretation of Phil's quote. He's saying the deeper parts of Yoga should be preserved, not that Yoga can never be used in a light, casual, and fun setting, as here.
