These articles are getting really annoying and not to mention they are totally rude and disrespectful to EJ readers that, for their own personal reason, do eat meat! I find it very distasteful that EJ seems to go out of their way to attack …and "gross out" the act of eating meat…..I don't sit around pointing out all the vegan food items that many people find gross…instead I choose to RESPECT that different people have different preferences…

Now am a meat eater, and will be for the whole of my life, unless someone can find me something that tastes as nice. But I don't eat a lot of meat. I know we shouldn't for our body's sake.

@Alpine, you do know Elephant Journal posts a crap… load of articles by writers that are pro meat, Joe Yoeman for one. Just because 1 writer wants to put forward their own point of view – which is the whole point of elej – there is not need to get angry. Why not post a response article? Get involved? Be part of the, as us Glaswegians love to call it, the banter! ElephantJournal is all about controversy in many respects so why not post another article why meat is good (cause it tastes nice…).

‎@Alpine–I didn't mean any disrespect to meat eaters. I actually eat some meat myself + wrote about my complex relationship w/meat a couple weeks ago on EJ here: http://www.elephantjournal.com/2011/04/meat-mysel… Did you get a chance to view the video ? I didn't find it to be anti meat. I shared it w/ EJ readers to help build awareness–that steak could be scraps of meat glued together with a potentially non-meat compound. Especially important info to those who only eat chicken as the compound could be comprised of pig or beef stuff. My husband and son are meat eaters and I showed them to make them aware of something that seems downright unethical and kind of nasty (IMO). But to those who like pseudo filets, enjoy. Appreciate your feedback!

It would be more interesting for someone to point out the highly problematic weaknesses in the vegan argument.

Hi! I was wondering what you mean by 'the highly problematic weaknesses in the vegan argument' – which argument are you referring to? :)

Ah! Seems really gross! *meat glue* – pig blood coagula…….yikes.

  4. [...] A vegetarian friend and I quietly relocated the chunks of slimy meat onto a third (shared) plate, feeling self-conscious about the growing stack of flesh. Feeling self-conscious is my own problem; coming up with an alternative is not. We had another [...]
