Via on Jul 28, 2011

Found this floating around on facebook with the caption: “NY artist is spray painting this image on sidewalks.” Pretty darn cool if you ask me.

“When I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the future of the human race.” ~ H.G. Wells

A few bike vs. car stats:

$5,713 : The average amount of money you could save each year if you used a bike instead of a car.

410: The average number of calories you could burn per hour by pedaling at a moderate pace.

36: The average number of hours you could gain back each year by avoiding rush-hour traffic.

20: The number of minutes per week spent cycling that could lower your risk of heart disease.

About Lindsey Block

Lindsey Block loves a good picnic, bottle glass of wine and a new recipe. She likes to do all the cliché things: sing in the shower, dance in her underwear in the living room—which her dog doesn't approve of, yet—and take long walks on the beach. She's currently struggling with misanthropy, but working on it every day—although it's hard living in California.
