The Picture of Ego. {NSFW}

Reddit: “What Narcissim looks like.”

Puff Daddy, P. Diddy? You gotta give Him credit: he’s so caught up in himself, he’s got no perspective. Naked women? Anh. Rather pain myself.

He’s a spider caught up in his own web. And we’re all that way. Luckily, for most of us, our egos are far less convincing. They cause us trouble: I know I, when I’m caught up in myself, am miserable, and create discord wherever I go.

So, soon, I head back to the meditation cushion, until I am no longer my only reference point.

And, finally, surprisingly, suddenly—I’m at home with myself.

    Angie O Genesis but, but, but–artist have this sacred balance, it has a wobble in it. It might be ego, you sort of have to be full of yourself to foist things that have not been seen yet on people.

    elephantjournal.com I think that's a misconception about art and artists.

    Trungpa Rinpoche talked about that "Woody Allen" notion of neurosis makes your art better and more real in "Dharma Art," great book, series of talks…actually being in present and connected with heaven above, earth below brings forth art that can most fully connect with others. That said, we're not talking about some effete wimpy fake-humility yoga hippiedom as true art—Dharma Art is often bold, brash, full of life.

    Bill Bradley I guess a picture of a person lieing in bed crying wouldn't get the same kind of attention. But why is it that us elephant journal types have more compassion for the person indulging in self pity and sloth, then the prideful and vain. It's all just two sides of the same coin.

    Joyce M. Holland His pants are a little too tight for my preference. But I like the message depicted of artistic "perfection", but it would have been more creative if the women were NOT totally nude.

    What a sad song! Just like you said – he's caught up in himself and miserable.
