  1. Taylor Mali is wonderful. As many times as I've seen that – it never gets old. I always get a little choked up and want to hug all the teachers I know.

thank you. I've been teaching for 15 and am also a yoga teacher. we need to give school teachers the same respect we give yoga teachers. More, honestly. It is a brutal, impossible job and the most important one to heal America, imho.

This is inspiring and yes there are teachers who are capable of great things. I always believe that teaching is a vocation. But the unfortunate reality is, that not all teachers aspire to this. To some it is just another job they fell into because they could not accomplish their life's dream. These are the ones that are cruel and have the potential to be very destructive. I have had the good fortune to meet good teachers, but I also had the misfortune of meeting some very evil ones. I went to an all girls catholic school in the late 70's early 80's and have first-hand knowledge of how wicked teachers can be. So you will have a real difficult time in convincing me that all teachers are beyond reproach. I am now watching my daughter who is a brilliant, kind, and happy child, lose all interest in school. She tells me, mom why should I bother to work harder. Nothing I do is going to make a difference, my teacher will continue to treat me unfairly. Please note that her grades in classes where she does not have this teacher still is 90% – t100%. I have to defend teachers to her and convince her that it is not always going to be like this.
