Vintage Lady Gaga: when she was “normal.”

Via on Aug 17, 2011

Before looking like something else every other night, she looked like this:

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta.

Before Lady Gaga was Lady Gaga, she was herself:

I’m not a fan, particularly, but if you are, and you haven’t yet seen this…well, check it:

Bret Blumenthal Extremely skeptical and uninterested in anything that has the name gaga anywhere near it…I decided to watch the video posted by EJ…

What I saw and heard amazed me…I had no idea that she was a talented pianist and composer with a powerul voice. You would never know by the mindless trash i associate her with in my mind. My fault for not knowing, maybe? My question is; what happened to this talented woman and her piano?

Jennifer Marranci She is a visual artist whose expressions sometimes over power her music. Its a shame people can't appreciate that part of her too. It keeps them from hearing just how much musical talent she really has. I think her voice is amazing.

What does this post have to do with living a mindful life? What is normal? We all make decisions in our life about our appearance and our career that are deeply personal. More often than not, I'm left questioning the relevance of some of elephant journal's posts to following a spiritual path in the 21st century. The tone can often be interpreted as "holier than thou"

  8. Marie says:

Back when she was 'normal?' As her career expanded, she just started expressing herself differently. She's bolder and more extravagant, sure, but even as she is now she is hundreds time more normal than many other artists out there. Anyone who's ever read, saw or listened to any interview of her would see and know that.

  9. Nic says:

    So "normal" means "being herself"?
    Bit judgy there, Elephant Journal…
