If the ski and snowboard film genre has ever been considered a low hanging fruit of “ski-porn” entertainment for the outdoor world, Sweetgrass Productions has built a spaceship to reach Eve’s apple.  For the last two years, these wild filmmakers and athletes worked in unbelievable conditions and slaved for horrendous hours after grueling journeys to the most inhospitable of locations.  Now, hours and hours of footage has been boiled, brewed and beat into submission to create a film that could make even a true cowboy cry.

Premiering this Thursday the 15th in Denver, Colorado at the Gothic Theater, Sweetgrass Productions present you with their latest backcountry ski and snowboard film – SOLITAIRE.

After two years filming in the depths of the South American wilderness, the Sweetgrass crew has kicked their award winning cinematography up a notch.  Dramatic landscapes combined with a powerful soundtrack is par for the course for their films, and SOLITAIRE is no exception.  There is something about their style that describes the very heart and soul of what it means to slide down snow.  A theatrically Western themed film about the lone wonderer takes you out of your seat, leaving you cold on the face of the mountain, eager for more.

Their tour kicks off after the wild premiere in Denver, so make sure not to miss it when that electric short bus rolls into your town.

INTO THESE MOST INHOSPITABLE OF LANDS, A HANDFUL OF DRIFTERS EMERGE…

In the high desert of South America, winter takes hold, devouring bleached bones and abandoned shacks. Born in the spires of Argentina’s legendary Las Lenas, a lonely two-year journey begins through an abandoned world. wandering the length of a continent from Peru’s Cordillera Blanca to Chilean Patagonia, Solitaire fuses western-inspired tales of backcountry gambles into landscapes never before visited on film.
