Tired of all the horror stories and fear-mongering around 9/11? Take peaceful action!

So, what if, as a way of honoring those lost on 9/11/2001, we look at the 10th anniversary of the World Trade Center attack as a CALL FOR PEACE between the United States and the Arab nations?

Yes, “9/11” was a violation and a huge shock to our country. Having witnessed this event from afar, I can only imagine what it was like to “BE” there. I have a huge amount of compassion for those who suffered directly—whose lives were affected more closely than mine.

From the west coast, I certainly remember being shocked and grieving for those lost and hurt, and the damage and destruction that was wrought. Though I didn’t have any personal connections, I felt unsafe and extremely vulnerable, especially having just moved to a major city (San Francisco) to begin my schooling at a university. I still remember that day vividly and the impact it had on me. I know that many others do, too.

That was almost exactly ten years ago. Fortunately, in those ten years, a lot of positive change has happened in my life and I feel much more aware and empowered. Whereas before I was just scared silly and feeling helpless, powerless, I now see that kind of violence and destruction as a “call for peace”. Something I’ve been playing around with in my life in the past ten years is being a YES for what I DO want, rather than a NO for what I DON’T want. What this means is that I stand FOR peace and actions that foster peace rather than AGAINST violence. I know that there are many others who feel similarly. Mother Teresa is famous for saying:

“I was once asked why I don’t participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I’ll be there.”

She also is quoted as saying “please choose the way of peace. In the short term there may be winners and losers in this war that we all dread. But that never can, nor never will justify the suffering, pain and loss of life your weapons will cause.” – Mother Teresa

Due to my involvement with Leaders Causing Leaders, a non-profit organization, I was asked to be involved with working towards the 9/11 Peace Intention Experiment and I’m very excited and honored to do so! Click HERE to read my Elephant Journal article about last year’s Leaders Causing Leaders conference. By the way, the next one is coming up soon, on October 8th and 9th in Los Angeles!

What is the “9/11 Peace Intention Experiment”, you ask? It’s a scientific experiment devised by “Lynne McTaggart, international bestselling author of The Intention Experiment and The Bond, who is enlisting tens of thousands of participants in the US and other Western countries and Arab cities in a symbolic gesture of peace in remembrance of the “Twin Towers tragedy.”

It will begin around the world on this highly charged day, 9/11/2011. “The 9/11 Peace Intention Experiment will take place in a 20-minute period every day for eight days, every day at 10 AM PST, beginning 9/11. As such it will replicate McTaggart’s 2008 Peace Intention Experiment, carried out on Sri Lanka, which showed a 74 per cent reduction of violence after the experiment and a demonstrable effect when studied through statistical time analysis.” To be honest, I’ve never done it before, so I can’t speak from experience, but I can say that I’m excited to be part of what could be the largest scientific experiment in history! Oh, and for working towards world peace. Right!

I am a firm believer in the power of intention and the ability to impact our reality with our thoughts. Call me “woo woo” if you must, but I believe that we are conscious beings for a reason, us humans. Let’s use our consciousness to rise up and create a positive ripple affect around the world! We are more powerful than we usually give ourselves credit for, in my humble opinion.

How can you be involved in the largest experiment in history? Well, you can sign up (for FREE) to be a part of this history, of the change you wish to see in the world! Register for this on-line experiment by clicking here. Just to clarify, Lynne McTaggart says that “for it to be qualified study, people participate for free.”

In addition to participating live, on-line (COMPLETELY FREE), you can also participate as a sponsor to help fund the making of the DOCUMENTARY around the Peace Intention Experiment 9/11, if you feel so moved to.

So, to be super transparent, it’s FREE to participate in the experiment. Did I mention it was free? 🙂 I misunderstood and thought that the money being raised was to fund the experiment itself. That was incorrect. Any sponsorship would go towards the documentary.

I’m all for this being documented. If you’ve been following me on Ele, you know that I’m ALL ABOUT conscious films (see my reviews on May I Be Frank, Conscious Life Film Festival and Spiritual Liberation). We have enough negative documentation in the world. Let’s get some more positive, empowering stuff in there, as well! The goal is to raise $250,000 (email [email protected]). Anything is possible! Let’s work towards that possibility!

By the way, if you feel so inclined, please share this freely with your friends, associates and loved ones. Thanks!
