The choice that Yoga teachers make today will determine this future. If you are teaching asana-only classes, then it should be called “asana class” or “fitness class” instead of “Yoga.”647 views

Way down, underneath overtly manipulative bossiness and the covertly manipulative niceness, was a desire to make a difference for people. At this point I’d met John Friend and I had a name for what I wanted to do. I wanted to serve.1,694 views

The same Photoshop that prepares teenagers for a lifetime of insecurities and poor health, can also put the sexy back in the broccoli – where it belongs in the first place – and make them eat more wholesome food, show them what a real man and a real woman look like, show ourselves who we are in truth.148 views

No doubt, windows themselves are a heating and cooling retention “black hole” for any house. Almost without fail, windows are deficient because their existence represents a downgrade from the better-insulated remainder of the dwelling. Heat and cold tend to escape or invade through windows over most other spots in a house. The goal with windows is to be as small a downgrade from the remainder of the dwelling as possible while still allowing desired light in and being able to see out.37 views

Patagonia has captivated and inspired the imagination of explorers and travelers for centuries. Geographically, Patagonia is one of the most remote places on earth. Located on the Southern tip of Chile and Argentina, and only 621 miles from Antarctica, Patagonia feels like it is at the end of the world. Patagonia’s remote and utter isolation combined with its spectacular scenery has added to its mystique. It is truly a magical place that is relatively untouched by man.473 views

We headed into the North country in search of richness, ripeness, abundance. We wanted the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. We wanted blazing color. We wanted to go deep. We swerved around a sharp corner, and nearly missed it. A farm.1,060 views

There are many reasons why I'm voting yes on 2B & 2C. I could talk about how I don't like that a corporation (a monopoly, at that) has 100% control of a basic public service. I could talk about how Xcel has raised my electricity rates by 20% over the past few years. Or I could go on about how citizens have absolutely no say in what Xcel does, where their energy comes from, and how much they charge because the Public Utilities Commission isn't elected by voters. But, instead, the most basic reason why I'm voting yes on 2B & 2C is because it's just the right thing to do for our community. And here's why.78 views

1:09p 150 degrees and cloudy. And hot. I can no longer move my limbs on my own. I have given up on attempting any of the commands this Chinese chick is yelling out at us. I will lay sedentary until the aid unit arrives. I will buy this building and then have it destroyed. I lose consciousness.460 views

I am all about doing what’s right and fighting for causes that I believe in, which brings me to an interesting fact that has always resonated with me. Mother Teresa never attended an anti-war rally, but she would always lend her support to a peace rally. She realized that putting your energy behind something that you are “for” is far better than rallying behind something you are “against.”319 views

Do not doubt yourself too much when reading into the negative qualities of your sign if you don’t tend to embody those traits! If it’s not broken don’t fix it. Actually your sign brings you many gifts. But if you do notice these neurotic qualities, don’t hesitate to take measures to find balance.200 views

We spend so much time slapping on the existential version of bumper stickers. This guy's a vegan. That chick is a feminist. This one does yoga. That one's a teacher. This one is a liberal. That one goes to church. You do this. You don't do that. You have this. You don't have that. But who are you?1,511 views

When I look into my own heart, there is anger on the surface - that people are loosing their jobs, and homes, and that we are part of a system which sends wealth to a small few. When I look deeper there is sadness, for all those people affected by this financial crisis. And sadness for those perpetuating the crisis, stuck in a cycle of greed. I am sure they are not truly happy, even with all the filthy lucre in the world.781 views
