It seems there’s always tons more encased in the skin of each being than will ever meet the eye or company of another. Over time I’ve learned that aching or raging or fear inside me means action is calling my name. I want Goodness to survive.875 views

As the milieu of contemporary yoga has becoming increasingly dominated by professionalized, manage-your-personal-brand pseudoentrepreneurial economicism, it is perhaps time that we revisit the religious concept of Dana, or making offerings.439 views

A couple of years ago, my husband and I were involved in a head-on collision with a truck on a country road in rural India. We were both as close to death as we'd ever like to be. The injuries were extensive on my part and involved plastic surgeries for facial injuries with months and months of painful rehabilitation.455 views

All minds are the same until they get educated for happiness. That is your task. If you are conscious enough to understand this, then you are capable of doing it. You are capable of turning your life around, so completely that not long from now, you will have a laughing fit when you remember how miserable you used to make yourself today.420 views

The Mayan Calendar gives us an opportunity to observe who we are on a daily basis under the cyclic influence of Nature energies, always changing, so that with this understanding we actually can use the one and only gift that makes us humans: conscious free will to manifest creation...and begin again.743 views

I decided to do a 30-day commitment to yoga, using my mat as a mirror for where I am in my body and in my mind. On day 11, a guy at the crosswalk next to the yoga studio paused, looked me up and down, and said, “I'd do yoga with you.” He asked for my number but I politely declined.568 views

I don't have anything against yoga in airports, per se. Traveling is uncomfortable and constricting and stressful. Yoga's good for all of those. It's just that when you're IN THE MIDDLE OF AN AIRPORT, seriously practicing a standing posture, or handstand, or anything other than say, easy pose, you kind of look like an asshole. We get it. You do yoga. You're spiritual.668 views

If the goal of carrying the weight of secret wisdom sounds lofty, then the science of Kriya Yoga might seem beyond the reach of the ordinary yogi who is content to meditate through Downward Dog poses and Happy Baby stretches. Yes, the ordinary yoga that so many of us practice may seem far removed from the works of Himalayan yogis, but the truth is far simpler, and more accessible, than that.263 views

Everyone's body and dietary needs are different. There is no one way to eat and what is right for your body one day may not be right the next. Our digestive systems have their own brains. Regardless of what our mind says, our bodies may differ and to neglecting to listen to our own bodies is in truth ahimsa.889 views

If the same focus we develop toward ourselves as we move through our asana practice or when we meditate on our breath could be applied to the smelling or tasting of food, we would probably eliminate a great deal of problems related to indigestion, over eating and different cravings.738 views
