elephantjournal.com reviews: San Francisco’s Samovar Tea Lounge. {photo tour}

Changing the World One Cup of Tea at a Time.

“Slow Down & Sip Some Tea.”

A few months back, Waylon and I made our way out to the lovable city of San Francisco for the inspiring Slow Money and Bioneers Conferences as well as a little fun…and some damn good tea.

We knew we had to make a stop at one of (three in SF) Samovar’s tea lounges. The biggest (best) surprise, besides their great selection and hip, cozy atmosphere, was actually the wi-fi free zone, allowing us to disconnect from our phones and laptops and connect with those around us (though Waylon, who stopped by one of the other Samovar locations, soon got the wifi access code out of them).

Samovar prides itself on its values and is leading the way in mindful, tea culture—changing the world one cup of tea at a time.

Our lovely tea guide!

Our tea spread. We actually had a few that were off their (extensive, amazing tea) menu.

Samovar Ocean of Wisdom Herbal Blend. Yum!

First, you must smell the tea before it gets brewed.

Then, you smell the tea inside the tea pot after brewed and poured
to understand how the scents and flavors have developed.
Some teas can smell completely different before and after brewing.

Also, check out the video of the first ever wine and tea tasting at Samovar.
