Greatist.com: The 100 Most Influential People in Health and Fitness 2011

Don’t look so sad, Waylon. You’re top 25 on the Greatist.com’s 100 Most Influential People in Health and Fitness 2011. Not too shabby to be on a list with stars like Jamie Oliver, Michael Pollan, Dr. Andrew Weil, Deepak Chopra, the Dalai Lama and Michelle Obama, among others. So get happy, because you’re doing a good job being of benefit and making other people happy.

Reaction via Waylon: “It means a lot: it signifies that all of us at elephant are doing something and doing it successfully. It also doesn’t mean anything—I’m ranked 20 spots above Michelle Obama? I don’t think so. Still, I’m probably the only one who got on this incredible list without the help of a PR/Marketing person!”

Not sure what post you're talking about, but we have a clear comment policy—we don't see it as part of our mission to host the kind of vitriolic comments, casual hate and trolling we see elsewhere on the internet.

We love criticism, we're not only tolerant of disagreement but see part of our mission as providing a forum for dialogue—as long as mutually respectful. As long as constructive. We don't go in for character assassination, which isn't helpful to the person being aggressive or the person being insulted. Assuming you're talking about today's controversy du jour, the post about David and yoga, I deleted one comment only that was short on thoughtfulness and strong on judgment.

In other words: if you've had a comment deleted, you're the 1%—and you must have stretched this policy to the breaking point: http://www.elephantjournal.com/2010/08/be-nice-or
