The single best Gay Rights video I’ve ever seen.

Via on Jan 17, 2012

Second Class Citizens: Kickstarter.

The Gay Rights Movement.

Update: call me naive, but was rudely surprised to see hundreds of “Christian” haters in comments on youtube. They defile the great tradition that is Love that is Christianity, and do not well represent it. ~ Waylon, ed.

We featured Equal Rights on our magazine cover, back in the day, before the national reaction to the passage Prop 8 and the tide realllly began turning. We’ve blogged about gay rights thousands of times, literally.

But this video—this one has got it all. Amazing quotes, good and bad, bigoted and full of love:

I’m gay, and that’s okay.

How can you get married right now…it’s like joining a country club others can’t join?

Be on the right side of history

Separate but equal.

That’s how I was raised…

I am gay…those three words are a violation…

…right to adopt?

We are not a nation that says don’t ask, don’t tell…we are a nation that says out of many, one.

Love, love, love!

PS: shoutout for screenshot of my local Congressman and elephriend, Jared Polis!

PPS: great comment on Reddit:

And as long as someone is anti-gay rights, their answer to the question “should all humans be treated equally?” is invariably “no.” Several of those people are vying for the presidency of the United States right now. Think about that.
