Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis: a look back at “elevision,” our first incarnation.

Walk the Talk Show (then known as elevision) in Boulder, Colorado.

I was funny, and cared about the subject matter…but I sucked at listening. It’s painful stuck in the spotlight, trying to both listen and keep the interview moving, touching on important questions and aspects of the guest. But after years of getting my ass kicked by life (in a good way), I think I’ll be more able to be grounded, and present.

We’re bringing back the show, which even then in its grassrootsy rough form was a hit, at least locally and through the pages of our magazine.

I’ve spent the last four years rebuilding elephant online, and we now have nearly a million unique readers a month: we’re ready to once again try and offer “the mindful life” in a fun, yet fundamentally serious manner. ~ ed.

Dr. Reggie Ray, on “What is Buddhism?”

We don’t talk about anything at all for the first 3.5 minutes, so feel free to skip ahead! Unfortunately, the video cuts off after 6 minutes (we used to host full videos on our old site, those videos are still saved but not online, we don’t have the dough to repost yet), but…enjoy what little there is, Dr. Ray is a remarkable Buddhist teacher:

A senior teacher in the lineage of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Reggie talks Dharma, controversy and guides the audience through a weird form of meditation.

A few random old elevision bonuses:
