Hula Hooping Beautiful.

Via on Feb 27, 2012

Everyone disagrees about everything except one thing: Everyone loves Hula Hooping.

Reddit comment of note:

“That looks cool and she is attractive. Upvote.”

Holy wow having now watched the whole thing I love this one. I like this one (mostly ’cause of the song, which reminds me of this):

the third video was AWESOME!!!! Definitely more "spiritual" and gifted hoopers than uh…Hoopsy-Daisy? But in the end, hooping is supposed to be FUN anyway, so who cares? I definitely *would* have loved to see some guys up there like Baxter who have really influenced the hooping community……or maybe the trailer for the super amazing documentary Hoop Life that people are still trying to finish. Thanks for posting!

I love miss Jade! What a joy to get to watch her playing in the fountain with her hoops and the other people cooling off.

Okay, I'm a guy. This isn't meant to be profound…just some amazing hula hoop videos. Yes, we do much better than this. But we also do fun. And that third video is awesome.

PS: next time you want to urge us to raise the bar, try punctuation and capitalization. It's a little like walking into a restaurant with your pants on and complaining about the service.

  7. I thought it was fun, cute…not "soft porn" at all! (And I'm a girl. And I love to hula hoop.)

I am a female, and I can really appreciate all of these videos! They made my day and there is not a thing distasteful about them. I could see how it could make some twitch with jealousy because the hoopers are simply captivating in every movement but no one can deny the talent here. Very Elephant Journal-esque. Thank you Waylon!

  9. Emm says:

Both of these girls have their own unique hooping style and both are graceful and beautiful regardless of what they are wearing. It's not that big of a deal, is it? it's totally fun and inspirational for some of us.

I just think there's a knee-jerk reaction against female sexuality by some elephant readers. That's fine, because objectification is a problem. But in my experience at yoga festivals, etc., many of my friends and acquaintances are delighted to hoop and do so knowing full well they're sexy, whatever they "look" like from a conventional beauty pov. The outfits, the moves, it's all a delight in play.

  11. elephantjournal says:

    Yes, "without"! Nice catch.

The NYT knows where to reach me, I'd be honored to be exposed by them as a person who wants to live a beneficial life and who appreciates sexuality, at the same time. I've never pretended anything otherwise.

The NYT called and said exposés are no fun when the exposee in question exhibits not the slightest degree of chagrin.

And, yeah, being serious(ish) for a moment, the hooper in the furry boots is very attractive, clearly enjoying herself, and she makes my tummy go all funny. What's not to like?
