You Are Perfect.

“But every night come out these envoys of beauty, and light the universe with their admonishing smile.

The stars awaken a certain reverence, because though always present, they are inaccessible; but all natural objects make a kindred impression, when the mind is open to their influence. Nature never wears a mean appearance. Neither does the wisest man extort her secret, and lose his curiosity by finding out all her perfection.” Chapter One from Ralph Waldo Emerson’s, Nature. Please read it.

The Full Moon in Bali was a few nights ago. I’ve been sitting on the bank of the rice paddies as darkness falls staring at her. Admiring her, observing her with much adoration, utterly astonished by her beauty and receiving her pure and luminous beams of light. I have never experienced a moon like Bali Moon. She is so close– I can almost touch her.

The clouds were moving at a pace I’ve never experienced before, rapid. I tried to reach my hands out to feel their caress, but alas, all I got was air. The curvature of the Earth was so perfect in it’s shape, the balance of vibration as form, true Harmony. Beauty just means balance. Supreme and Divine Balance.

I can never seem to grasp the right words when trying to express the ineffable quality and absolute divine nature of Nature. I sat all night contemplating how to best express her and well, I haven’t quite found it yet. I don’t think I ever will. The satisfaction from the mere contemplation seems to be suffice. This always happens with me when in moments of extreme overwhelming beauty. With nature, with people or with things.

If you ever find me google eyed, in silence, staring in awe it’s probably because I am saying to myself, “Wow, I can’t believe this is happening,” while simultaneously saying, “Wow, this is really happening.” How lucky am I, how humbling to be a witness of such divinity! Beauty has that effect- especially in nature where the veils of Maya seem to lift. It carries you into a place of stillness so deep within, a place where you’re now fully able to receive everything, everything, all the subtleties of the experience itself, that is around you.

The only sound that ever seems to hold the entirety of the experience is OM.

OM, the echo and reverberation that the yogis say encapsulates the entirety of the Universe. What do you think of that? OM. Can you feel it? OM.

I will leave you here with some of the masters I study and go to for the written word. I look to them for guidance when I seem to fall short.

“The most incomprehensible thing about the universe is that it is comprehensible.” Albert Einstein

“Although we have no rational grounds for believing in an objective reality, we also have no choice but to act as if it is true.” David Hume

“I am in you and you in me, mutual in divine love.” William Blake

Pattie Smith says, “An artist is somebody who enters into competition with God.” My interpretation of her words are this— that there is never a competition. There just can’t be– we are but mortal. Although, we do have the opportunity and are given the birth right to translate and allow the transference of what we are receiving to come forth.

And THAT my friends, is our task. To exude the vision. To allow the nature, the divine, the already present quality of perfection in and all around us to SHINE FORTH.

You are already perfect. Did you know that?Your job is to SHINE YOUR LIGHT. That’s it. Shine it. This little light of mine and yours, let it shine, let it shine, let in shine. OM.
