Featured Guests: Frank Berliner, Laura Ruby & Na’an Stop.

Frank Berliner became a student of the Vidyadhara during the first summer of the Naropa Institute in 1974. He lived at Karmê Chöling from 1974-78, then served Trungpa Rinpoche over the next fourteen years as National Director of Shambhala Training and Ambassador to the Berkeley Dharmadhatu. Frank now lives with his wife Nan in Boulder, Colorado, where he teaches the psychology of Buddhist meditation at Naropa University, and maintains a private practice as a psychotherapist and organizational consultant.

Laura Ruby is an avid foodie enthusiast, sniffing out fresh, local and yummy food wherever she goes. She worked as the Garden Coordinator for the Growe Foundation for the past three and a half years installing gardens and teaching garden curriculum at Boulder Valley elementary schools. She is also the founder and owner of YummyYards, an edible landscaping company, working to co-create more functioning, self-sufficient landscapes, and is a co-facilitator and teacher at the Lyons Permaculture Design Course at the Farmette. When not teaching about growing food, you can usually find her in a garden somewhere.

Na’an Stop, pronounced (non-stop) is one of the biggest up and coming reggae bands in Colorado whose fusion of roots, rock, reggae and ska will surely get you moving. Formed back in 2010 by 5 students from around the country who met at the University of Colorado, Na’an Stop has quickly developed a unique sound that is hard to resist. The vibrant horn section, 3 piece harmonies, and alternating bass and guitar players are just some of the traits making this band one of a kind. With original music composed by three different lead singers, this bands seductive style is no imitation. From house parties to the big stage, these kids know how to put on a show.

Press Release:

Leading Green National Walk The Talk Show With Waylon Lewis Announces New Bi-monthly Series

Series Features Mindful “Enlightainment” With Live Tapings Held in Boulder, Colo. Videos Featured on PBS Rockies, Huffington Post, Care2, elephantjournal.com, And Others.

Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis, a leading green national talk show produced in Boulder, Colorado (since 2008) announces its return. Once a popular, trail-blazing internet-based show, it was canceled after elephant magazine put out its last issue and went online, becoming elephantjournal.com. After four years of rebuilding, during which Walk the Talk Show has only taken place 20 times (featuring guests such as “Yoga Mogul” John Friend, Michael Pollan, Dr. Andrew Weil, Sister Helen Prejean (Dead Man Walking), Walk the Talk Show is back. And this time it’s got one of the leading “mindfulness” web sites in the world behind it. elephantjournal.com has been voted #1 in green on twitter two years running, and has 1,020,000 unique readers a month (Google Analytics).

Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis will offer bi-monthly public tapings to be held at Boulder’s new eco Shine Restaurant, in a private event space. The talk shows will be taped and live-streamed in front of a live studio audience of 100 people and produced as video segments hosted on PBS Rockies, Huffington Post, Care2, elephantjournal.com along with elephant’s many allied sites. With a combined social media firepower of 200,000 facebook fans and 150,000 twitter followers, not to mention the popularity of the many guests and bands, Walk the Talk Show aims to be the first ubiquitous online-only talk show in television history.

Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis focuses on issues and personalities in sustainability, adventure, spirituality, education, consumerism, food, ecofashion, politics, wellness, the arts—“anything that helps us to live a good life that also happens to be good for others and our planet.”

“We’ve interviewed senators, congressmembers, Deepak Chopra, Bill McKibben…we’ve appeared at Sundance, Natural Products Expos, music and yoga festivals. We’ve headlined the historic Boulder Theater. But we’ve never had the chance to expand nationally—internationally—with a strong social and new media base. I’m very much looking forward to the opportunity to share the word about living a good, fun life beyond our core or choir,” Waylon Lewis says.

Adapting the classic talk show format—monologue, segment, two interviews and a band, with a houseband—Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis is free online, and open to the public in Boulder. The show will take place from 7 to 8 p.m., every other Thursday of every month. The first show of the season, on February 9th, 2012, featured leading yoga teacher Richard Freeman and chef Mary Taylor of the Yoga Workshop, and John Douillard, leading Ayurvedic author. The previous show featured Daniel Epstein of Unreasonable Institute, John Cobb, President of Naropa University, and musical guest Milow. The upcoming live taping on Thursday, March 8, 2012 will feature Frank Berliner, on Meditation for Business & Relationships, Laura Ruby, Top 10 Ways to Green your Backyard, Fashion Show by YAW and live music by Na’an Stop.

Tickets are $3. Kids under 18 free.

Slow Happy Hour with eco drinks at 5. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The show will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. There will be no admittance after the doors are closed at 6:50 pm, as this is a live taping. Following the show, an after-party will take place at Shine with local eco happy hour deals for Walk the Talk Show guests until 9:00 p.m.

Videos of the Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis are available for viewing on elephantjournal.com, as well as on pages of 20 partner host websites for a total of (tentatively) 30,000,000 unique viewers, making Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis—in only its second full season—the largest online talk show nationally.

To reserve your ticket to attend the live event, the public can RSVP at:

http://walkthetalkshowmarch8.eventbrite.com/

Only the first 100 to reserve tickets will gain admittance. ID required. No drop-ins.
