How (Not) to Save the World.

(Via Tumblr)

Hey Superman, let me break it to you…

(Via Tumblr)

Your real name is Clark Kent. You work as a reporter for the Daily Planet. You look ordinary. You feel awkward. You go to the bathroom. You never know what to say at the exact moment when you’re supposed to say it, but only after all the wrong things are said and done. And, most importantly, you can’t fly.

Lois Lane may not love you back (ever). And if she does, it won’t be because of your flashy costume but probably because of your glasses.

And because you’re there at the end of the day and you’re there in the morning and even when love isn’t, you’re there.

Superman, I don’t know what they teach you up in space, but you have so much to learn from down here. Most days, your life will be so unscripted, it won’t even do as an independent movie.

See, it never was about flying. It was about walking in such a way that you don’t ever need a cape.

“The world without spirit is a wasteland. People have the notion of saving the world by shifting things around, changing the rules, and who’s on top, and so forth.

No, no! Any world is a valid world if it’s alive. The thing to do is to bring life to it, and the only way to do that is to find in your own case where the life is and become alive yourself.”

~ Joseph Campbell

Kind of like him but with your own instrument.
