Tonight I Seek. ~ Sonjia Weinstein

Scott Robinson

Tonight I seek

~

a way to grow

on the continuum.

An array of pillows

softens the reach

towards warmth,

the love of friends.

~

Winter

is the cruelest time.

The sunless sky, bitter

air lacks heat . Movement

crunches the covered ground.

Limbs find gracious arms.

~

I lack your touch

over my breast, a hand

resting below the rib,

with tender care

comfort in what you know.

~

I want to say

I know we are infinite.

No equation can find

what people are.

~

We are not reduced to

this point in time, this room

the brevity of a lesson.

~

With each measure

understanding breathes

and possibilities expand.

~

The place we meet is endless

(January 2010, in State College, PA)

After several decades of living in various parts of the United States, Japan and Switzerland, Sonjia settled in the Rocky Mountains about 12 years ago in the small town of Lander, WY.  She teaches yoga, paints, writes and occasionally gets paid to design residences. Sonjia recently began graduate studies at University of Wyoming in American Studies, focusing on socially and environmentally responsible built environments. She plans on spending a lot more time in Laramie, WY in the upcoming years.
